WHY DO WE GIVE?

We give generously because Jesus has been so generous to every one of us. Because we have received freely, we give freely. Giving generously is also the Character of Jesus, and because we are His children, we have received His Character into our own lives… we’re simply imitating Jesus.

Tithes & Offerings

Scripture teaches us that we worship God by returning His tithe, which is the first 10% of our income, and by giving offerings from our abundance to the church on a regular basis (Mal 3). While Scripture does not designate a specific percentate for offerings, we encourage members to prayerfuly set a regular percentage that they set aside each week for offerings as good stewards of the abundance they’ve received These funds are used to support the regular operation of the House.

Investments

There are also times when we feel called to make strategic investments into the mission of the House. These investments help to fund building projects and the strategic expansion of our ministry (Ac 4:36–37).

Generosity

practicing generosity begins in the House of God, and one of the best ways to give generously is through our Barnabas Fund. This fund is used to meet the financial and emergency needs of individuals and families in our congregation who are facing a crisis in their lives. Our pastors pray and follow the guidance of Jesus in stewarding and distributing these funds as they are needed.

Year-End Offering

Every year we set aside the first two Sundays of December to bring our Year-End Offering as a church family. This offering is above and beyond our regular tithe and offerings, and our pastors use this offering to establish the budget for the upcoming year.

How To Give

We want to make it easy for you to return His tithe and give your offerings, make investments, and practice generosity. There are five ways to give at Church the City:

1. 1. Give online or on our app by clicking on the Give button
   2. Text $AMOUNT to 84321, then follow the instructions to set up your account
      
   3. Scan the QR code on any of the screens at the church on Sundays
   4. Place your gift in the bucket on Sundays
   5. Drop your gift in a giving box on Sundays

If you give online or on our app, you can also set up your regular giving for automatic recurring (debit or ACH), if you’d prefer that option. To designate your gift, simply add one of our keywords (TITHE, OFFERING, BARNABAS, etc.) to your text, and your gift will be designated to the proper fund.

Financial Stewardship

Financial integrity and godly stewardship are vital in the the life of a believer, as well as in our congregation. So, every member of our congregation can access their giving statement at any point throughout the year. Additionally, Church the City—as an organization—practices biblical giving as well. We do this by giving the first 10% of the monthly donations we receive to other ministries: parnter ministries and organizations in our community, ministries around the country, and through monthly financial support to missionaries all around the world.
